Happy Birthday to Us!

What a fun week! Granny arrived on Monday to help Mommy get ready for the birthday party. She was so much help to Mommy and of course, we had a great time with her. We went to the NICU on Wednesday to see some of the people who took care of us for so long. Mommy didn't take one picture that day but everyone was so glad to see us there. Grammy and Granddaddy stopped by for a little bit on Friday night to deliver some birthday gifts. This week was full of surprises. Poppy was supposed to arrive on Friday night but instead he came on Thursday night with Aunt Kristen. Also Uncle Mark came, too, on Thursday. Uncle Mark and Poppy got stuck with having to put our new playhouse together. It took them all day but it sure was worth it (at least we think so). The biggest surprise was a little bit into our party Uncle Michael walked in the door. No one except GAMA had any idea he was coming so we were all so surprised. The only bad part about the weekend was that Kitt was sick so Mommy had to take her to the doctor the day of the party. She seems to be feeling a lot better now so we are all glad for that. Most of our closest friends came to our party and we are so glad to be loved by so many people. Mommy made a video of the year so you can check it out below. Mommy also wrote us a letter so we thought we would include it here.

Dear Sweet Girls-
This has been such a fun and fast year. We have had so many fun trips, adventures and wonderful days learning and growing together. I love watching you explore things for the first time and I love getting a glimpse of the world through your young and innocent eyes. You are such beautiful babies and are becoming beautiful little girls. Kitt, you have such a caring heart and your smile lights up the room. Garet, you are incredibly fun-loving and bring joy into all our lives. I cannot imagine my life without both of you and while I realize that every day I am especially aware of it on this weekend as we celebrate your birthday! I truly did not know that I could love anyone so fully and yet I am able to love both of you totally and unconditionally. There is no greater love that brings such incredible fulfillment as does motherhood, and while I always wanted to be a Mommy, you both continue to amaze me with the amount of joy you bring. So here we are on your birthday and yet, you are giving me the best gift of all....yourselves! I love you both so very much and look forward to another year. Love, Mommy

Not really cooperating!

We're sure the title of this blog has you thinking, "Surely whoever is typing is not talking about us!!!" We went to two fall festivals on Saturday and refused to put on our costumes! The first one had a costume parade and prizes but we didn't seem to care. Instead, Garet wanted to play in the bounce house the whole time and Kitt wanted to sit at the craft table and draw the whole time. Good thing Mommy brought a helper! Speaking of costumes, Garet was not too happy when the Chick-Fil-A cow showed up. In fact she was yelling for the cow to go and telling it bye! We also went to the fall festival at the place where Mommy used to work. Lots of people were excited to see Mommy and meet us for the first time. A few of the older ladies commented "They look so much alike they could be twins." We think the must have forgotten that we are twins! Also, with not cooperating in mind we had planned to go to the Botanical Gardens with AJ on Friday but the weather was a little too cold for Mommy's liking so we played here instead. The first pictures are from our trip to get pizza. There is a place here that has gluten and egg free crust that Kitt can eat and we both love it. We did get to see Aunt LeAnn for a little while on Saturday and she went with us to a party Saturday night. That's about it for this week but most of you know we have a big week coming up as we will turn two on Tuesday! We have lots of family coming to town starting tomorrow and not leaving until the middle of the following week so we know it will make for a fun time. Pumpkin Pickin'

As you can see in the pictures Mommy thought it would be a fun idea to take us to a pumpkin patch. There are several in the area but most of the actual farms are over an hour away. She thought about going all that way but instead decided on a patch of "already picked" pumpkins at a local church. It's a good thing that's what we did! Garet started crying as soon as we got there when she saw a big cardboard black kitty cat. She didn't like the pumpkins either at first but eventually warmed up to them. Kitt could have cared less about the pumpkins...she just wanted to wear the camera bag around her neck. Oh well! Maybe next year we will get a little bit more into the Halloween spirit....or maybe not :) We did some other fun things this week, too. On Friday we went to the Taqueria with Mommy and Karol. It had been a long time since we were there. You could tell everyone missed us but they kept talking about how big we had gotten! We even ordered our food off the menu instead of eating what Mommy brought us. Well, Garet ate, and Kitt played with her chips and dip (salsa). We got to see Parker on Monday but neither Mommy nor Aunt LeAnn took any pictures! He is walking now; it won't be long before he is running around with us. You can also see Kitt's new raincoat in the video where she is rocking away. Even Miss Nancy at school couldn't get her to take it off! That's about it for us this week. Of course, we have some fun things planned for this week, too, and will update you next week.

Choo Choo

We had another fun week with lots of different activities! We had some play dates with some friends. We also had a fun weekend with our Aunt Bernadette. She played with us and even came along for music class. Garet has been talking about riding a choo choo for a week now so we finally went to ride one. We both liked it but she isn't talking about riding anymore--not sure why. While we were at the mall we also saw a fire truck with real fire fighters. They had hats for us which we wouldn't wear while we were there but we like wearing them around the house. There are lots of pictures of us hanging out at home with Mommy, Daddy and Aunt Bernadette. There is also a little video of Garet telling who she wants to hug! We hope you have a fun week. We are hoping for some fun things to do and are hoping we get to see Aunt LeAnn and Parky tomorrow!

Busy little girls!

We had so many fun activities this week! As you can see, our surprise visitors were Emily, Frankie and their mommy. We did some of our favorite things together: bagels in the morning, the zoo and Maddio's Pizza for lunch. It was a great day! Kitt really liked the petting zoo, but as you may have guessed, Garet stood behind Kate's leg the whole time. We also got to play at the playground at the zoo, too. We had fun playing the drums and driving the bus. Back at home, Kitt had a lot of fun playing with Mommy's newspaper and going through the coupons. Garet tried to help some, too. Another special treat this week was going to Bruster's for ice cream. While it might not be the same as Dairy Queen with Poppy, the ice cream is free, it has sprinkles and they have a big sandbox where you can play after you eat your ice cream. We are still in music class and this week Ms. Jennifer had a lot of drums for us to play. School is going well, and we seem to enjoy it more and more every day. We had our pictures taken today for our 2nd birthday, but we were less than cooperative! We are going to try again later this week to see if we can be a little more cooperative. So we have some fun pictures of us just goofing around the house! As you can see Kitt was picking out some new clothes that she thought she would like in the catalog and we have both discovered clothes pins. Mommy and Daddy were watching us play with them wondering why they buy us toys. Speaking of buying toys, after seeing us want to play with socks on our hands, maybe we really don't need them after all! Daddy was out of town some this week so we missed seeing him every day but we sure were glad for him to come home. We have a few fun things on the agenda this week but we are looking forward to a special visit at the end of the week. Stay tuned to see who comes to see us. Until then, have a great week!

Chefs for a day!

This week we got to be chefs! Mommy took us to this place called Bean Work Play Cafe and ths week they were having Chef's Day. We got to make salad, butter, and our very favorite: homemade vanilla ice cream! It was a lot of fun and some new experiences for us both. We also took Kitt to have her hearing checked. She passed with flying colors. Unfortunately, she has an ear infection now but we know she will be on the mend soon and will be back to herself any day now. We are still enjoying school and come home very dirty on days we paint. After taking many weeks off, story time at the library resumed this week. We were glad to be back! After story time several of us kids talked our mommies into taking us to the park to play. It was a fun day! We also went to Hippo Hopp and had a great time there, as usual. There is a cute little video showing off some of our activities from the week, including Garet practicing saying "Granny", but not a lot of pictures. You will see our tutus that we have taken a liking to! Alright, we hope you have a great week.

Remembering....

We have had another fun-filled week! On Monday it was raining but Daddy also had the day off so he set up our bounce house inside. You should have seen it! It nearly took up the whole room. There are some pictures of us playing in it. We also had several playdates this week with friends. You can see a bunch of us having frozen yogurt after we played at the park. School is going well. In fact, it is going so well that on Thursday when Mommy came to get us, we both cried when it was time to LEAVE instead of when we got dropped off. Kitt seems to have been "playing school" with her baby dolls and Garet liked jumping on the couch. Mommy thinks it's especially cute that as she's doing something a little dangerous she is saying "careful!" Today our school had a big playdate with all the kids called Popsicles in the Park. We had a fun time seeing some of our friends from school and also just playing. It was a fun day! Mommy also tells us that today is a special day to remember. She told us a little bit about it but then decided she wants to let us be little and enjoy being kids. There will be enough for us to worry about later! So while lots of grown ups were remembering a sad event, we were thinking about all the wonderful people, places, and experiences that have already been so special and look forward to all that is to come.

School, playing, and the zoo, oh my!

Well, we know you've been wondering how school was! We seem to like it pretty well. Kitt gets a little worried the first few minutes but seems to do well after the first few minutes. The first day Miss Nancy told Mommy that Kitt didn't want to do art because she didn't want to get her hands dirty. Mommy isn't surprised! Garet's first day art is in one of the pictures below. The first couple of days were pretty hectic getting everyone settled that Mommy and Daddy didn't get a picture of us but there is a picture of our cute little lunchbags! We got to see Aunt KK and Uncle Mark for just a little while. Garet was saying their names all day the day before they came and every day since they left but wouldn't say it while they were here. We had some fun play dates this week with other kids and also with our new friends in school. We also went to the zoo with lots of other sets of twins.
Daddy was having fun taking pictures of the animals while we were there. Check out the great picture of the elephant. The whole time we walked around the zoo, Garet kept saying "el-phant." You can see how much Kitt liked seeing the birds, too. Mommy introduced us to stickers this week and they were a big hit. We get a little frustrated trying to get them off the paper but then we like them! Kitt really wanted to try on Daddy's socks today, and it wasn't enough just to try them on. She decided she would wear them for a little while. Check out the picture below. We don't have too busy of a schedule this week so maybe we can take it easy! See you next week.

Hanging around

We had another fun week with lots of activities! Mommy and Daddy finished some things up in our downstairs playroom and you can see Kitt checking out the mirror! Mommy set up a felt board (we think it's to remind her of her teaching days) and she has stories that we can tell using the pictures from the books. Kitt especially likes to take the pieces out of the bag and put them back in. Garet's comment was "cute" just before she took all of the pieces off and threw them on the floor! We had several play dates this week and got to see some of our friends. Mommy took us to a different park for the first time which we really liked. It has lots and lots of push toys that kids can play with. Kitt liked the car and Garet was warming up her with her bat....look out Chipper Jones! Of course, we went for ice cream a couple of times and even had a trip to Publix. This week holds lots of new adventures for us, including a short visit from Aunt KK and Uncle Mark and also starting school! That's right....we are going to go to a morning program twice a week so we are a little nervous but a lot excited. Next week, we will give you a full report. There is also a fun little video of us hanging out at home. (Note: Mommy wants to go to sleep and the video still wasn't working so she will check again tomorrow. Be patient with her as she learns how to use her new computer!!) Have a great week!

Playdates galore!

We had so many fun play dates this week! We got to meet a new friend and another friend from the neighborhood on Monday, but Mommy didn't take any pictures. We also got to play with AJ, Addie, Parky, Courtney, Lucy, and Eliana. Courtney and Lucy are baby twins that came and had tummy time while we tried to get a hold of their bottles! Eliana is about a year younger than us and she just moved here with her Mommy and Daddy from Texas. Our mommy used to work with her mommy and daddy several years ago so this was everyone's first time getting to see all the babies. We think we are going to be good playmates! Sherri came over one day to help Mommy since she was taking care of us and Parky. Three babies was a lot of work so it was a good thing Sherri came by to help! Daddy finished getting our downstairs play room cleaned up and we were so excited to get back to those toys. You can see Garet learning all about putting shelves together from Daddy. We had a fun visit with Addie as we hadn't seen her in a while. Her mommy made a special lunch that is a recipe from Kenya. Kitt was a big fan of it while Garet liked to dip her chips in it. This week reminded us of how many great friends and play mates we have! We will look forward to seeing you next week.

Back to the grind!

By the looks of the pictures this week we didn't do a whole lot but that's not true. Apparently now that Mommy is on her own most of the days again (now that we're not in Pensacola anymore) she has forgotten how to take great care of us and take pictures! We just think we're going to give her more time to get back in the swing of things. Anyway, we had a very busy week complete with a visit from Aunt LeAnn and Parker (or Parky, as Garet calls him) and a visit from Emily, Frankie, and their mommy and daddy. We got to spend a day with Parker which was lots of fun. Thank goodness Aunt LeAnn took some pictures while they were here. Don't we all look so cute on the bench? We also went and had pizza AND ice cream with Emily, Frankie, their cousins, their mommy and daddy, their aunt and uncle and their grandparents! The cool panda hats are from Karol--all the way from China! Kitt likes wearing hers a lot more than she indicates in the picture below. We also got to see AJ twice this week and even went for ice cream two different times. Don't worry, Poppy; we won't let this take the place of our regular visits to Dairy Queen. Our biggest news of the week is that Kitt is a physical therapy graduate! We will miss seeing Nancy every week but are so glad that Kitt is developing as well as she is. We also started a short series of classes at Gymboree this week. We're still deciding if we like it as we did our own thing instead of participating with the other kids in the class. We'll see how this coming week goes. We have lots of things going on this coming week, too, so we better get ready for it. See you soon!

A great time, great to be home!

We are finally home! We had such a great time in Pensacola with Granny and Poppy. We will tell you that Garet consistently referred to Granny as Gan Gan all day today but we will see if it sticks. As you can see we had lots of fun in the water during our last week and of course, had a trip or two to Dairy Queen. Garet loves the water now and even jumped from the side of the pool to Mommy or Granny many, many times. We came home today and Kitt was especially excited to see her toy room. In fact, she didn't even want to eat anything....just play with her toys! We are not going to write much because everyone is so tired but we will let the pictures speak for themselves. There is a little video clip of some fun memories. For those of you who have been a part of our night time routine, you know about BoBo! Garet especially loves BoBo, the Baby Signs Bear and gets so excited everytime she sees him on our nightly video. Mommy loves Garet's reaction at the end when she realizes BoBo is gone for the night. Sorry that part is a little jumpy on the video but Kitt wanted to help and she is still perfecting her videography skills! Anyway, to Granny and Poppy, thank you so much for everything you did for us these past three weeks, such as all the groceries, ice cream, laundry, etc, etc, but most importantly the time you spent with us and the love you showed us. We know Mommy enjoyed the extra help and Daddy was glad all three of his girls were in such good hands. We love you very much and love all the time we get to spend together. Mommy and Daddy often say they wish you lived closer, and we must say, we sure do agree with them! Our next visit to see you or your next visit to see us can't come soon enough! To everyone else, we hope your summer adventures have been as fun as ours. We will see you next week....

Lots of surprises!

We sure are enjoying the time we get to spend with Granny and Poppy, but we also had some fun surprises this week. Aunt KK (as Garet now calls Aunt Kristen) came from Washington, DC to visit us, and of course so did Uncle Mark. The biggest surprise was that Daddy came for the weekend. We think that our block message from last week worked and he couldn't stay away from us! In any case it was another fun week. You might notice several pictures that involve food but let us explain. You can see how much Kitt loves the new yogurt dip Granny bought for her. Kitt is a terrible double dipper but if you come to visit us, you can have your own container! Mommy also wanted to be sure she posted a picture of Kitt's first ever sandwich since Mommy found some bread here that Kitt can eat. We both really loved our sandwiches. We got to spend some time with Auntie Kristin, too, and really enjoy all of the new adventures every day. One day we had a professional photo shoot that was a gift to Mommy and Granny from Aunt KK and Uncle Michael for Mother's Day. It was a little hot when we went but we looked pretty, of course, and Mommy will be ordering some pcitures soon. This is our last week here so we hope to make the most of it. Vacation....it's all the same to us!

We are having lots of fun at Granny and Poppy's house on our vacation. Mommy says that all the days are the same to her but we are still having fun. Yes, it has been confirmed that Poppy will be the name we use! We have had some new adventures since we've been here such as our first swim lessons and our first popsicles. The swim lessons went pretty well. As you might have guessed, Garet was not a huge fan but Kitt loved them...even going under the water. We have enjoyed seeing Auntie Kristin a few times and we also were especially excited to get to see Calvin and his mommy and daddy. You might remember that Calvin's mommy and daddy and our mommy all went to college together in Texas. It was fun playing with Calvin at the Naval Air Museum and in the pool in our front yard. We try to go swimming most days so that we can practice what we are learning in swim lessons. Yesterday, we went downtown to the produce market and got caught in the rain! There is a picture of us with Granny sitting and waiting for the rain to stop. Mommy always worries that we won't sleep real well in a new place but that is not the case here! We have been sleeping great at night and also during naptime....maybe it's because we get so tired during the day! We wanted to include a special picture that is a message for Daddy. We are having lots of fun but we miss him lots, too! We hope you have a fun week like we know we will.

On the road again....

What a week this has been! At home Nanny taught us to eat cereal from a bowl all by ourselves. Mommy took a few pictures so you can see how great we are doing! Now we also thought we would try our hand at feeding ourselves yogurt and that was not quite as neat. There are pictures of that, too! Kitt has figured out how to get out of her crib. You might be wondering how Mommy and Daddy discovered this. Around midnight one night, Kitt was crying and Mommy looked at the monitor to see Kitt straddling the top bar! Imagine everyone's surprise. The next day the crib tent you see below arrived at the door. We went with Mommy one day to the center where she worked before we were born. It was fun for her to see so many kids that were in Kindergarten when Mommy met them and now they are in middle school. We think it made her feel a little old, too, but she's not saying that. We had a fun play date at the park with some of our friends. There ended up being six babies there so it was a lot of fun. One highlight of our week was going to Sautee to see some really good friends. We even met four people for the very first time even though they have known about us and have been following us for a while! Finally we made it to Pensacola for a three week stay with Granny and PaPa (or Poppy, depending on what Garet is calling him on any given day). We are already having such a fun time hanging out with them and also with Auntie Kristin. Tomorrow we have our first swim lesson so we are going to get a good night's sleep so that we are ready for it. We hope you have a fun week although it probably won't be as fun as ours!

Leftovers plus new ones!

There are some pictures here left over from last week when we were still in Pensacola but they were just too good not to include them. Moving on, we had some fun days this past week! One day we went to Hippo Hopp with our friend Bridget. Our mommy and Bridget's mommy had us in their bellies at the same time so we have been friends since the beginning. We had a fun time playing with her and Mommy enjoyed seeing her mommy again. Another day we went on a nature walk with some friends from our neighborhood. We didn't get a picture of all of us together but there are some pretty good ones of us below. We are really growing and changing so much these days. Garet has a very extensive vocabulary these days and she likes to practice her words all the time! Kitt is getting to be an incredibly proficient walker and is communicating in lots of different ways. Mommy is borrowing a quote she read on her friend's Facebook page (who is also one of our most faithful readers, Holley). It said, "To live with children is to live in a house where miracles unfold everyday." Mommy says that is so true here, too, and she loves watching us grow and change. Knowing you will want to see us move a little, too, there is a short video below. We really enjoy dancing so here's a little glimpse for you. We have some fun things planned this week and then we will be going back to Granny and PaPa's house for an extended visit. Next time we post, that's where we'll be!

A little bit of everywhere!

This was yet another great week! We spent some time with Mommy's good friend, Dallas, and her son Malik. Malik was just a baby when Mommy first moved to Atlanta and taught school with Dallas. Malik was the boy who carried the rings in Mommy and Daddy's wedding and look how big he is now! We went to the aquarium together which was fun, of course! There are several pictures of us just hanging out at home during the first part of the week. Then at the end of the week we went to Pensacola to see Granny and Grandpa. Although Grandpa's name might be changing since as soon as Garet saw him she said PaPa! She has called him by name every time she has seen him and asked for him when she didn't see him! We have had lots of fun here swimming, playing in the sprinkler, going to the park, getting ice cream and even meeting Clifford the Big Red Dog. The picture of us with Clifford is a little blurry but we wanted to be sure you saw that Garet wasn't crying when she met him! Granny and Grandpa had lots of fun surprises waiting for us when we got here, the most exciting one being our dinner guest which you can see below! We hope everyone has a wonderful 4th of July weekend and we will look forward to seeing you next week!

Homecoming week!

What an exciting week of getting to see some of our favorite people and going to some of our favorite places! First we got to see Parker and Aunt LeAnn. We always enjoy visits from them but this time we took them with us to the library for story time. Later in the week, Emily, Frankie and their mommy and daddy came to see us. We spent a few days together and had such a fun time. In fact, ever since they left, Garet has been walking around saying "Emi, Emi" and Mommy has to keep telling her that Emi is gone. We got to go to Imagine It twice this week and also for frozen yogurt a few times. We went to the pool a few times and even went to Sautee, GA this morning for church. One night we had a cookout with some of our twin friends, Alana and Madi and their daddys. It was such a fun time! Although we haven't gotten to see them yet because we went to bed early, Mommy's good friend, Dallas, from when she first moved to Atlanta, and her son, Malik are here to see us. We are going to go on a fun adventure with them tomorrow. We will let the pictures speak for themselves! See you next week.....

Happy Father's Day!

We have had such a fun week doing some of our favorite things! We went to the park a few times. Once we went with AJ and his mommy but another time we went with the multiples club. There were bunches of sets of twins! Grammy and Granddaddy visited us for a couple of hours Friday morning and again for a couple of hours on Saturday afternoon. It was fun to see them again. You might be wondering why Kitt is wearing a hat in 95 degree weather but she wanted to wear it! This week had two important celebrations: Daddy's birthday and Father's Day. We thought two events deserved two trips for frozen yogurt. They gave us balloons which we loved and we loved our Georgia Peach yogurt even more! As you can see in the pictures below we are learning how to eat our spaghetti without making a mess :) The video above is our Father's Day present to Daddy as it shows so many special pictures of times we have spent together, beginning with a picture from last Father's Day. Daddy, we know we are "your girls" and you are our hero as the songs suggest. We love you very much, Daddy!

Every day is different!

We sure think we could get used to summertime! We went to the pool several times and love it a little more every time we go. The baby pool is nice because we can even sit down and still not be under water. We also played with our water snake in the backyard which we still like. You can see how much we enjoy our sand and water table, too. Kitt likes to play with the sand while Garet likes to throw the sand out! Speaking of Kitt, as you can see, she has figured out how to climb so that she can flip the switch on and off. Oh she loves to do that and watch the light and fan go on and off. We have a couple of funny stories to share this week. One day Mommy went in to get Kitt up from her nap and her diaper was off! Luckily there was nothing "too" messy but when Mommy asked Kitt about her diaper, she held it up. On another day we went shopping with Mommy to try on some shorts. When Mommy went to try them on, Garet started saying "tee-tee." Maybe we are trying to tell Mommy we want to try to use a real potty but probably not quite yet. Another day during nap time, Mommy heard the radio in our room. She looked at us on the monitor and saw Kitt pushing buttons on the sound machine. Guess she was tired of all the white noise! This morning before church we went to Hippo Hopp. We were the first people there and got to watch all the inflatables wake up. It was so nice to have the place to ourselves. This was the first time we had been since Kitt has been walking so she had a fun time exploring. Garet had a fun time climbing--first onto the table and then to the top of the castle to see what it's like to be Princess Garet! On Friday we had such a fun playdate with Karol, Sam and AB. We played at the park and then went for lunch at the Taqueria. The first three pictures are from that day but Karol took so many great pictures Mommy wanted to share all of them with you by clicking here. We sure are having a fun summer and hope you are, too!

Where to begin?!?!

This was such a fun week. Of course, Daddy had the day off on Monday so we went to the park to play, went to the pool and also got out the bounce house! We got a couple of new push toys this week from GAMA that as you can tell Kitt plays with a lot. Occasionally Kitt shares them with Garet! As you can see we went to the pool several times and one time Nanny went with us. It was so hot this week that when we went to Walgreen's Mommy found this really cool water snake. We both loved it! There are some pictures and even a short video. We tried to tell Mommy you all would want to see us from the front playing with it but she was worried about her phone getting wet. Oh well! On Friday we went with our friend AJ and his mommy to the zoo. We saw so many people there that we knew! You can also see us practicing our drumming skills. We played the drum during the week at music class and then realized that we had drums just like Miss Jennifer's at home, too, so we have been playing them here. We got to go to a party today at our friends Jen and Jennifer's house. You'll never believe what they have in their backyard: real, live chickens! They look a little different than what we know as chicken (what we see on our plate) but they were fun to see! Mommy has also been experimenting with some new foods that Kitt can eat. The banana muffins were not a big hit but the goldfish crackers were a huge hit (with Daddy, too!) Hopefully you will enjoy the pictures from the week. We will see you next week!

Summertime is here to stay (we hope)!

Summertime is here for sure and we are loving it! We had a couple of playdates this week which we always enjoy. (We think Mommy really looks as forward to them as we do because she gets to talk to other Mommies!!!) The first one was with our friend Castalia where we played in the sprinkler, with bubbles and with sidewalk chalk. She has a house that we enjoyed playing in. Garet even decided she would climb through the window!!! Kitt's physical therapist gave her some special inserts (with a big name we can't remember) to help her walk. They work great! Kitt has to wear shoes with socks now so we got to break out our One Fish Two Fish shoes that Auntie Kristin gave us for our birthday. We are glad they finally fit us. You can see that Garet has taken a liking to the baby. In fact she has a few books where she always goes to look for a baby. Kitt likes to play with Morris the Moose, the puppet. She even talks a little bit with him on her hand! Mommy won us the "Love Bug" shirts earlier in the year and we wanted to be sure you got to see them. In the spirit of "Love Bugs" Mommy tried to get us to kiss so you can see the best version of that kiss below. You can also see that as we get older we are getting to be helpful. Kitt helped with the diapers and Garet helped organize the cabinet where Mommy keeps the bottles. We also got to have ketchup for the first time. We had such a great weekend going to the Decatur Arts Festival where Kitt played in the sand box and also at our own little pool at home. That's about it for right now. Tomorrow is a holiday so we plan on giving Mommy and Daddy a day off, too :)

Back to the grind

We are back at home, all safe and sound! The trip back to Atlanta from Pensacola was a lot better than the one down there. Mommy and Daddy found a playground near Auburn that was great! We had lunch there and played for about an hour before we had to get back in our car seats for the rest of the trip. Lucky for Mommy and Daddy we got right back on our normal sleeping schedule of 13 hours at night and a two hour nap! On Tuesday we got to spend some time with Parker. His mommy, Aunt LeAnn, went out for a girls' day with Mommy which meant we stayed here with two babysitters. What a fun time we had! Unfortunately, Mommy didn't take any pictures. Maybe Aunt LeAnn did?!?! We are back to music class and even got two sessions this week to make up for one we missed. We also got to see Nanny again which was nice. We had missed seeing her and liked having her back while Mommy took a little break. Why anyone would ever want a break from us is beyond comprehension, isn't it? On Friday we had a play date with our friends Madi, Alana and their Daddy. We had so much fun playing in the park. We also had another play date at that same park but with kids a little older than us. We weren't quite sure what to do around the bigger kids. Maybe next week we will warm up to them a little bit more! On Saturday, when we woke up from our naps, Daddy had set up a great surprise for us: the pool and our sand/water table! We were so excited to see it all and had such a fun time playing outside. He even had music on for us to listen to when we got out there. The last two pictures are us in some of the new dresses GAMA sent. We think they're beautiful, and Mommy agrees, but she also thinks we are starting to look more like little girls and less like babies! We hope you have as fun a week as we will have.

We were so busy this week at Granny and Grandpa's house! One day we went to the mall and took a class at Gymboree. It was fun and we got to play with lots of other kids. We are going to give it a try when we get home, too. We spent lots of time playing around the house and at the park. We also got to visit with Auntie Kristin a few times and Uncle Mark one time. He even brought Kitt a phone to play with since she likes them so much! Kitt got her stitch out and everyone was very glad, especially Kitt because it meant she could play in the water again. We went to the beach one day with Mommy and Granny. Kitt kept inching farther and farther in! She also loved the sand while Garet was not so sure. We were both sure of one thing: we loved the sweet potato fries at the burger joint where we went after playing at the beach. One day we went with Mommy, Daddy, and Grandpa to the Naval Air Museum. We liked looking at the big planes, but our favorite part was playing with the Legos and climbing the stairs! Granny and Grandpa babysat for us two nights. Once was so Mommy and Auntie Kristin could go out for dinner and the other was so Mommy and Daddy could go out to celebrate their anniversary. They did a great job, of course! As always we had such a fun time at Granny and Grandpa's and will miss them tomorrow when we go home. Our next trip isn't long from now and might be even longer than this one. Hopefully the car ride back tomorrow will go better than the ride down. We will let you know next week!

Pensacola activities and Mother's Day

Well, every once in a while Mommy messes up and types before she uploads the pictures. Because of this little mistake, you get to see the pictures first and then read about our week after the pictures. We're sure you won't mind :)

We have had a busy week playing at Granny and Grandpa's house and getting to see lots of people. Aunt Kristen came to town so that was a lot of fun. There are lots of pictures from the week including trips to the park, the water, the fountains and even to meet Elmo! As you can imagine Garet was a little scared of him but not as bad as you may have expected. The only bad news of the week is that Kitt had a little fall out of her wagon and we had our first trip to the ER. She is doing great....it was more traumatic for Mommy and Daddy than it was for Kitt. The worst part about it is she can't play in the water for 5 days! Today we celebrated Mommy and Granny for Mother's Day. GAMA sent flowers (you probably saw the picture above) and we got Mommy a gift certificate for a facial. We also made Granny something special that you can see above. Aunt Kristen and Uncle Michael also bought a photo shoot for all of us to share (Mommy, Granny and the two of us for when we come back this summer). Daddy had to go back home today and we miss him already but will have a fun time staying here one more week until he comes back to get us. While we love our Mommy very much and think she is a superwoman, we know there are lots of "mommys" who love us from near and far and take care of us. We would not be where we are if it were not for you, too. Happy Mother's Day to all of you!

Changing scenery.....

This week we did a lot of our normal things but we also changed locations......we went from Georgia to Florida! We went to the library in Atlanta for story time and then went with our friend AJ and his mommy to the park. There are some fun pictures of us at the park. AJ seemed to take a liking to Garet and he was trying to give her a hug in one of these pictures. On Wednesday, Granny arrived to help get us ready for our trip to Florida. Of course, we had a great time with her and did some fun things while she was here. Mommy needed her to help out a lot so she could get her hair cut and also do her final requirement for her school certification. That meant she had to work extra hard but she did great and we had lots of fun. Granny also went with us to our 18 month doctor check up which went well. We are growing, growing, growing and doing great! On Friday we came to Florida. Granny transformed her dining room to a play room for us. You can check it out in the last picture. It may have not been our best road trip down here but we were so tired of sitting in our car seats when Mommy and Granny tried to put us in high chairs. Needless to say we were antsy at the restaurant, only took short naps when we got back in our car seats and then needed some entertainment. Luckily for everyone, Granny sat on the floor between our seats and talked to us and made us laugh the last two hours of the trip. We have been having lots of fun since we've been here. We have gotten to see Auntie Kristin several times. She took us to the park today with Mommy which was a lot of fun. Uncle Mark has come over a couple of times, too. It had been a really long time since we last saw him. He thinks we've changed a little since we last saw him in August! Yesterday we went to a park that has water coming up from the ground. Garet liked it some but seemed a little scared of the water. Kitt, on the other hand, loved it and kept going in and out of the fountains. She was having such a great time. She was moving a little too fast at one point that she tripped and banged up her forehead pretty badly. It didn't keep her down. A minute later, she was up and playing in the fountains. Garet preferred to chase the birds and other things she found in the grass. Today we played in the water some more, although Garet preferred to walk around with Grandpa while Kitt played in the water with Granny. Kitt decided she needed to inspect the tomato plants, too! We also went for a little ice cream treat, too. YUMMY! We don't know what all Mommy has planned for us this week but we know Daddy will come down for most of the week and we will also get to see Aunt Kristen. It will be lots of fun....we are sure of that!

Easter fun!

So who knew that Easter would be so much fun? Somehow we don't remember having this much fun last year, but then again we were just babies! We got so many cards and presents this week. Even Mommy and Daddy got some cards and presents, too. You can see some of our new things in the pictures below. We also had lots of things to do today, too. We went to church, took quick naps, went to Karol's house for a lot of fun, and then went to the Taqueria for Customer Appreciation Festivities. Somehow Mommy and Daddy managed to make the list for that party! It was a great day. Mommy's friend, Stephanie, took the great pictures of us at Karol's. That reminds us....Steph also did a photo shoot with us a few weeks ago and the pictures turned out great. If you want to see the whole album, click here. You can even order pictures right from that page! We also had some fun play dates this week but Mommy didn't take any pictures. As you can see in the last picture, (although it's not a great picture) we met the Easter Bunny. Let's just say that Garet was trembling when she saw him. Mommy is not sure if the trembling was from fear or excitement!!! We have a few things going on this week but we are excited about Granny coming to help Mommy get ready for our visit to Pensacola for two whole weeks! We will see you next week.

Just goofing around

We had another great week although a lot of it was spent hanging out around the house and outside. Our new favorite place to play is in the old playroom (the sunroom) because it has a door to the outside deck. We love going in and out between the two areas. We went with Addie and her mommy to the zoo one day which was fun. Check out the pictures of the lions. You can imagine all the roaring we did that day!!! On Wednesday we had our first day at our new music class. It was fun but Garet took a few minutes to get comfortable. In fact, for the first 10 minutes she just stood in the middle of the circle watching Ms. Jennifer! We had another music class on Saturday for our multiples club playdate. Then we went with Mommy and Daddy up to Sautee, GA. It was beautiful!!! We wish the weather had been that pretty when we took Granny, Grandpa, and GAMA there. Saturday night we went to a 131st birthday party....to think we thought Mommy and Daddy were old! So it was actually three people's birthday: a 60th, a 50th and a 21st. We didn't really care what was being celebrated. We just know we had a fun time playing. Now there is a video below that is for our true fans....it's 15 minutes long!!!! We will tell you the best part is at the beginning but for those of you who really like seeing us, we know you'll watch the whole thing. Enjoy!

Well, we were such busy little girls this week! Sunday night Grammy and Granddaddy arrived for a short visit. On Monday we went with Mommy to Adeline and her mommy's house. You will remember that Adeline is our friend from the NICU. We had such a fun time playing with her, her toys and having lunch on her patio. Then Monday night a really bad storm came through our neighborhood and knocked down trees. It also knocked out our power for two whole days!!! Can you imagine? We went one day without ourbreakfast smoothie and that was not good for anyone! The next morning, Mommy made Daddy take the blender down to a neighbor's house to make it. (Most of our neighbors had power....there were seven houses that took so long to get it back). Not much else was different for us except that we couldn't listen to music during meals. Another day we went with Harry and his mommy, Ashley, to the zoo. It was busy as the school kids had vacation but we still had a fun time. As you can see we really love eating spaghetti (well....really, what don't we love eating?!?!) On Saturday we had a photo shoot and got lots of pictures taken so we will look forward to showing you those. We have some fun things planned this week, too, so we will see you next week!

Missing everyone.....

We had such a great time last week with Granny, Grandpa and GAMA but now we are missing everyone! Emily, Frankie, and their mommy and daddy also moved this past week so we are already missing them, too. All that being said, we had so much fun with everyone here. We went to Imagine It museum one day. Mommy liked having lots of extra eyes to help watch us and we liked having extra attention, too. Kitt, of course, had a great time pushing the grocery cart there and Garet played with everything. Kitt loves grocery carts so much that when we were walking in the stroller with Mommy, we got to Walgreen's and Kitt started crying out and reaching for the carts! One day we went with Granny, Grandpa, GAMA, Mommy and Daddy to the North Georgia mountains. It was a lot of time in the car but it sure is pretty up there. Another day we stayed home and played because everyone was worn out from all the activity. Of course, Granny and Grandpa both worked hard while they were here so we thought we would give them a little rest from all the cleaning, laundry and handyman jobs! Granny and GAMA were in charge of bath time and they were a lot of fun! We were sad when everyone left but we know we will see Granny and Grandpa again in a few weeks and hope to see GAMA again real soon, too! There were so many pictures from this week that Mommy decided to put some of them into a video slide show along with a couple of little video clips for you to enjoy. Now that we are both getting so mobile, Mommy sure does have her hands full during the day! This week we went to Hippo Hopp with a bunch of other mommies but we did not really stay all in the same place (or even in the same place as each other) which would have made things a little easier for Mommy. We spent a lot of time with Emily and Frankie again this week and even hosted a "come back soon" party for them at our house. Mommy had a birthday this week so we got her a special present: a massage to make her back feel better after lifting the two of us all the time. Speaking of lifting the two of us, Kitt is really getting good at taking steps on her own, and of course, Garet is a little speed demon! On Wednesday we went to Macon to visit Aunt LeAnn and Parker for the Cherry Blossom Festival. Aunt LeAnn took some pictures while we were there but Mommy will have to get them before next week. So our other exciting news for the week is Granny and Grandpa arrived today and they are going to stay for most of the week. Of course, they came with lots of surprises for us! They also brought us a whole flat of strawberries which we both loved. Kitt decided she really liked to eat them whole so she had five or six all on her own. We are all really excited that GAMA is also coming tomorrow. We have not seen her in way over a year so we can't wait! We will have some fun pictures and videos next week......

Spring is in the air!

We had some fun adventures this week! We went to the library for story time on Monday where we enjoy playing with their toys and singing songs. We had our friend Adeline and her mommy, Cate, over one day. After we played for a little while we all went to the Taqueria for lunch. As you can see in the pictures and the videos, we are really getting good at moving around outside. Kitt will walk as long as someone is touching her (even with just a pinky finger) so we know she will be tearing around like Garet real soon! Mommy had a little mishap with the real video camera this week so the other one will have to do for a while. She's getting much better at editing our videos, don't you think?!?!?

So Mommy has done a really horrible job taking pictures this week but she has taken some video. She is taking a class for college (we'll go there someday) and she has to edit video for the class so she is using us to practice. (We didn't tell her this but she needs a lot more practice with the editing. We told her it would be a lot easier with an apple computer). Anyway, moving on! We had a fun week. We spent some time with Emily, Frankie and their mommy. We have to get lots of time in with them because they're moving a whole state away pretty soon. Our one trip to Hippo Hopp this week was a bit of a bust because it was packed. Apparently everyone goes there when it's raining. BUT we got our very own bouncy house and there is some video of it below. It is so much fun....we especially love the slide! Kitt got a grocery cart which she loves and we are both learning what animals say even though Mommy only got video of Garet showing off. You might think she needs a little more practice but she does a lot better with it when there is not a camera in her face. We had a really fun day yesterday taking two long walks and hanging out with both Mommy and Daddy. We guess that is it for now. We will see you next weekend hopefully with pictures and some well-edited videos! We will keep working with Mommy on her editing skills :)

There were two important birthdays this week. One was Granny but we weren't with her to celebrate. The other was Dr. Seuss!!! We went with Emily, Frankie and their Mommy to Imagine It on his birthday and they had all kinds of festivities. It was lots of fun. As we are getting more mobile, we really seem to enjoy that museum a lot more as you can see in the pictures. We played dress-up, danced in some tap shoes, played in the garden and did some grocery shopping. Mommy was a little worried we were not going to like the characters but we did okay. As expected we went to Hippo Hopp this week but Daddy went, too, which was lots of fun! We had lunch one day with a lady who is going to have twins of her own and we went to the Taqueria not once but twice! We were a little under the weather this week and so was Mommy so we didn't get out and about too too much, but we sure did some exploring. We don't have a lot going on this week so we will see what adventures we find ourselves in. See you then!

Family fun!

This was another busy week! At the beginning of the week Aunt LeAnn and Parker came to stay for one night, but Mommy didn't take any pictures! It was great seeing them though. No week would be complete without a trip to Hippo Hopp so there are a couple of pictures below of us playing there. We tried to go again later in the week but when we got there they were closed for a private party. We were very disappointed, although we didn't realize we weren't staying (and thus start crying) until we got in the car. We also went to the aquarium this week and had a lot of fun. Emily was teaching us all kinds of things. As you can see, Kitt was really interested in the sting rays and would have gotten in the pool if Mommy would have let her but Garet was not about to let go of Mommy's shirt. We also had a really special weekend because Granny, Grandpa, and Aunt Kristen all came to visit. We had such a fun time with them as always are so glad when they come. This was a short trip but we are looking forward to an even longer visit in March.

A walk at the zoo

So let's see.....on Monday, Emily and Frankie invited us down to play in their bounce house (it's like they have a part of Hippo Hopp in their backyard!!!). Kitt had an appointment so Mommy and Garet went down first. For about 30 minutes, Garet just sat inside. Emily was trying to get her to play with no luck. Daddy brought Kitt over after her appointment and as soon as she saw the place, she immediately started sliding down the slide. Once Garet saw Kitt was doing it, Garet finally started playing. We had such a fun time playing there. Monday was also Valentine's Day. Daddy helped us surprise Mommy with some chocolate dipped strawberries and a handmade card. There is a picture below so you can see it, too. The weather this week was finally nice so Mommy decided to take us to the zoo not once, but twice. Good thing for season passes as Christmas gifts! As you can see in the pictures we weren't really sure what was going on around us but we enjoyed the walk in the stroller. Right now it's like a walk in another neighborhood but we know we will come to enjoy it more and more each time we go! On Saturday, we went with Daddy for a really long walk in Piedmont Park and then we had lunch with our friend (and Mommy and Daddy's friend, too), Jillian. What a fun day! We are really excited about this week because we have some really special visitors coming to see us....Granny, Grandpa, Aunt Kristen and Uncle Mark will be here soon. Happy Valentine's Day (a little early!)

What a week this has been! We have been to Hippo Hopp twice, had three play dates, been to the Botanical Gardens and been shopping. My, we are busy little girls. We forgot to report our latest measurements from our 15 month check up so here they are:
Kitt: weight is 21 pounds, 8 ounces and length is 31 inches.
Garet: weight is 22 pounds, 9 ounces and length is 32 1/8 inches. The doctor's words were "You would never know these girls were as premature as they were!!!" Glad all of our eating is showing. You can really see in the pictures how much Kitt is moving around. She even took her first step this week. She hasn't taken another one since but she will. Garet is also really climbing a lot, too, as you can see. Unfortunately, she took a fall or two this week. Clearly, all this climbing is wearing her out. There are lots of pictures of us sporting our special Valentine's Day outfits early. We wanted lots of people to be able to see them so we thought we would wear them today for church and shopping. Mommy tells us we have some cards and gifts to open tomorrow so that should be fun! We hope you have a great week....see you soon!

A special day

So Aunt LeAnn and Parker came over on Saturday and we had lots of other people over, too, who wanted to meet Parker. It was a fun day and there are some pictures below from it. It looks like Aunt LeAnn is teaching Garet how to take pictures but don't worry, Grandpa, she will need a refresher one day! Kitt is really having a fun time lately on the school bus and also in the tunnel while Garet has gotten to be quite a climber. She climbs up onto the slide by herself and somehow managed to climb on the couch by herself, too. Lookout Mommy! Kitt is still cruising around furniture very well but not quite taking steps by herself. Physical therapy is going great but this week Miss Nancy came over for the session and Kitt was so tired she just fell asleep right there! Garet is taking more steps all by herself but still prefers crawling to walking. We've got to run as we are all going down to Emily and Frankie's house to play while the grown-ups watch a football game.

Playing and bouncing and climbing....

Well this was another very busy week for us. Kitt had an exam under anesthesia on Monday to have her eye checked. Doesn't she look adorable even in a hospital gown? The exam went great and she was home before Garet even woke up for the day! We went to story time at the library and met lots of other kids. There was another set of girl twins there, too. On Tuesday we were so excited to get to see Aunt LeAnn and meet Parker! While Kitt had a great time that day, Garet was especially interested in Parker. Speaking of girl twins we went to Hippo Hopp to play with some of our twin friends. We had such a fun time bouncing. Nanny came too that day which allowed Mommy to take more pictures. Not only did we go to Hippo Hopp once this week but we also went yesterday. We love bouncing and climbing all over the place there. Today we had planned on doing something outside after our naps but can you believe Mommy and the two of us napped until 4:30?!?! Needless to say we didn't make it out but we did take a nice walk with Mommy and Daddy. We also hope you enjoy the video of us laughing! See you next week.

Making up for lost time

Well as promised, Mommy took us all over this week! She said she was so tired of being cooped up the week before that we were going to get out just because we could :) We went to the coffee shop to see our friends Jen and Jennifer; Sam's Club to go shopping; two different malls; the shoe store for a real shoe fitting; Hippo Hopp with some of our twin friends and their mommy; church dinner; music class; Emily and Frankie's house......it was one busy week but we had a lot of fun. Who knows what this week will hold?! Tomorrow Kitt has to go to the hospital for an exam under anesthesia for her eye but it's all routine so no need to worry. There are two fun videos from this week, too. Some of you mentioned to Mommy that you thought you heard Garet saying "uh-oh" in the ball pit. Truthfully, she says it A LOT so here's a video to prove it. The other video is of Garet dancing to the music that she is playing on her house and of Kitt right in front of the camera. Enjoy! Can you say cabin fever?!?!?!

Well remember the snow from last week that we were so excited about? Can you believe that it turned to ice and we did not leave our house, even for a walk, until Saturday! It was unbelievable. Schools closed for the whole week; stores closed; even doctors closed. One day Daddy managed to get out of the neighborhood so Mommy asked him to pick up some bananas. There is a picture below of what the banana shelf looked like! There are several pictures of us hanging out inside and some pictures of our play room at the end of one day. Thank goodness Emily, Frankie and their mommy were able to come over and play every day towards the end of the week. The video is from one of those days. We did have music class yesterday which we are still enjoying and went for a walk with Daddy today. Mommy has already promised us that we are going somewhere every single day this week just because we can! Hopefully that will result in lots of pictures but we'll see.

Snow day!

So as we hinted yesterday, here are some pictures from the snow today. It was a big event but all the snow has turned to ice so we probably won't be able to go anywhere tomorrow either. We are not sure how long we will be able to handle being inside (well, really, Mommy is not sure how long she will be able to handle it!!!!) There is also a football game on tonight that Daddy is really excited about so we got to wear our Auburn t-shirts today and we are even sleeping in them for good luck. We won't find out until tomorrow who won but we're guessing we might have an idea based on how much Daddy yells at the TV :)

Sleeping less....playing more!!

Since we have been back from Granny and Grandpa's we have changed our schedule. We have been sleeping a little later and then not taking a morning nap. This means we have lots more time to play in the mornings! We are taking an afternoon nap, of course, but like being able to do other things in the mornings. In the pictures from the week you can see us playing with some of the new things we got for Christmas. Kitt's physical therapist was so happy with all the progress, and we must say, Kitt really is moving around a whole lot. Garet is practicing her walking a little bit but she is such a fast crawler that she normally just crawls. Today we went to church and we got to be Queens in the parade. They have a parade where all the kids wear crowns and march around the church as part of the "Breaking up Christmas" service on Epiphany Sunday. We must admit this was a bit of a lazy week as we were re-adjusting to being back at home and the first couple of days we didn't even get dressed!!! They are predicting a winter storm coming through so if we have some snow pictures we might post them tomorrow. We aren't making promises but you might check if you get some time! See you soon......

So since last week we came back to Granny and Grandpa's house. We have been here over two weeks now and have had such a great time! We have to go back tomorrow....we will miss Granny and Grandpa lots but we also look forward to going home. We have lots of pictures from this past week with Aunt Kristen, Uncle Michael, Auntie Kristin, and of course, Granny and Grandpa. For New Year's we got to wear special feather hats but we didn't do a good job of keeping them on. We didn't stay up until midnight but when we woke up on Saturday it was 2011! We are excited about this new year and all of its new adventures and memories. The big news of the trip is that Garet is walking! She is just taking a few steps at a time but walking, nonetheless. We have both discovered the stair case and did a great job going up them! Today, we went with Mommy, Daddy and Grandpa to the playground and played in the swings. We also went down this huge slide with Mommy. Kitt LOVED the slide and was so excited to go down. There are a bunch of pictures from the week (some might be from the week before, too, but Mommy couldn't remember what had already been posted) and a few videos. We have had such an amazing week! We spent a few days at Granny and Grandpa's house hanging out and getting ready for the trip to the beach. We did go and spend some time with good friends of our Great-Granny and Great-Grandpa, too. Then the fun really began when we went to the beach house. Daddy, Aunt Kristen, and Uncle Michael all arrived on airplanes and we came out to the beach. We are all staying in the same house, playing and spending time together. It's wonderful!!! Yesterday was Christmas Day and we had such a fun day! Everyone gave us toys and other presents that were wrapped in pretty paper and boxes. At first we really liked the paper and boxes, but now that they're gone, we are enjoying playing with the new toys. We are also really enjoying all our family. Unfortunately, Granny has been sick so we haven't been able to spend much time with her but we are hoping she gets better real soon. Also, Mommy cannot seem to get the pictures to upload from the beach so you are going to have to look at them through Snapfish by clicking here. Once she gets back to Granny and Grandpa's house she will try again to put some pictures in the blog. Enjoy the pictures and we will see you soon!

So we had a busy week getting ready to make our trip to Florida. Before that, though, we went with Emily and Frankie (and their mommy) to Imagine It museum. GAMA gave us a whole year's worth of visits to this place and we know it will be a lot of fun to explore. Granny came to town towards the end of the week to help us get ready and also to help Mommy on the trip down. One great thing about her coming is that she got to come to music class and help out. The pictures are a little disorganized but we figured you'd rather have them out of order than for us to just leave them out :) We are now in Pensacola and are doing great. On our first day here, Garet climbed all the way to the top of the stairs (being closely watched, of course!) Kitt even climbed the one stair out of the family room and then turned around and went back down using her head to brace herself. We have both gotten very good at waving "bye-bye" but Kitt is especially good at it. Today Mommy was walking up the stairs saying bye-bye to Garet. When she got to Kitt's room, Kitt was sitting up in her bed waving since she heard Mommy saying it coming up the stairs. We also got to experience our first fire in a fireplace. Of course, no one let us get close but we were interested in it. The picture of us in the rocking chairs is at the Cracker Barrel. Kitt was rocking to the music being played overhead and as you can see, it looks like Garet was trying to escape from the house! We are looking forward to this week and all the family we will get to see. We will even get to meet our Uncle Michael for the first time and we will get to see Daddy again soon, too!

Ho! Ho! Ho!

What a week it has been! It was still cold outside so we didn't do a whole lot of going out but we did get out some. At least it was not raining! One night we went looking at Christmas lights in the neighborhood. It was so cold though!!!! There are also a couple of pictures from music class at the top. As you can see we met Santa Claus for the first time today. Kitt was a little worried at first but warmed up to him once she decided she liked his beard. Garet, on the other hand, did not like that man one little bit!!! Mommy made a video of us as elves which you can check out here. We were also busy this week helping celebrate two special birthdays: Aunt Kristen and GAMA. On Friday we met a new friend, Alex. He and his mommy are at home during the days, too, so Mommy invited them over to play. He is just five days older than us but a LOT bigger! We seemed to like him just fine but when he gets excited he squeals which Garet did not like too much. We know you are probably wondering why Mommy is posting this on Saturday but she is going to be in Macon tomorrow helping take care of our new friend Parker while Aunt LeAnn gets better. We probably won't see her at all tomorrow but we know Daddy will take great care of us.

It has been so cold this week that Mommy has not really wanted to leave the house much! Monday and Tuesday were not only cold but they were also rainy. Once the rain went away, the cold stayed so we did some things but didn't go on as many walks as we are used to. One major highlight of the week was we had our first music class yesterday. Mommy and Daddy forgot the camera but next week they will take some pictures. The teacher, Miss Berne, asked if anyone wanted to strum the guitar so this big boy ran up and strummed it. Not even two seconds later Kitt crawled up to strum it!!! Miss Berne helped her but Kitt really seemed to know what she was doing. Also yesterday, Daddy had a big football game to watch (War Eagle, he says) so Mommy took us to IKEA with Emily, Frankie and their mommy. Mommy was feeding Kitt and looked over to see that Garet had taken a piece of broccoli off of Emily's plate and sure was enjoying it! We also discovered that Kitt is allergic to eggs, but she seems to be doing better now that we've figured that out. We just have a few things scheduled for this week but we're sure it will be another fun one. Enjoy a few videos below in addition to the pictures!

We had such a fun week in South Carolina and a wonderful Thanksgiving! We hope you did, too. We spent the first few days of the week hanging out at Aunt Bonnie and Uncle Gene's house with Mommy and Daddy. Most of the grown-ups worked during the days so we played with Mommy and took walks. Basically we did the usual but in a different state. Then on Wednesday Granny and Grandpa arrived. We had such a fun time hanging out with them and all of the other relatives, too. We had a big dinner for Thanksgiving and got to wear our special bibs that Sandy sent us. Notice that Garet is really warming up to Grandpa! We got to try ice cream and you can see how much we enjoyed it! Kitt is really getting good at standing up and Garet is even starting to take steps along the couch.

Mommy has been talking to us some about how special this Thanksgiving was. You might remember that last Thanksgiving, Mommy and Daddy drove to South Carolina for a big dinner but we were still in the NICU. If you're curious you can read all about it here. This time last year we weighed 8 pounds combined! Mommy was thinking about how she could hardly get through the meal last year without crying and this year we were crawling all over the place. Truly we have so much to be thankful for! We are thankful for each and every one of you who has asked about us, worried about us, prayed for us, loved us, encouraged our parents and who have believed in us all along. Thank you for being a part of our journey.
