We did it!

We both went to sleep easily last night for Mommy and Daddy right around 10:00PM and we didn't wake up until about 6:30. The day went well and we stayed on somewhat of a schedule. Nanny started today (she is a really nice lady who is going to come and help Mommy take care of us and the house for a few hours each morning for the next several weeks). When she left Mommy's friend, Kate, came to visit. We played a good bit today, read books and sang songs. Tomorrow is another busy day so we decided we better go straight to sleep and we did! After dinner, Garet was helping Daddy with his work on the computer. Here are a few pictures of us playing today.

Mommy did just fine!

So last night was a wild night for Garet. She decided she wasn't really sleepy and preferred to stay up with Daddy and help with his work. At midnight, Mommy decided she was going to sleep so Daddy took Garet downstairs. At some point, he thought maybe she would fall asleep if they drove around the neighborhood. That worked until the car stopped! Mommy didn't hear them come home and at 2:00AM she went to be sure the car was home. She found Garet and Daddy both downstairs: Daddy working on the computer and Garet waiting for something exciting to happen. Finally she went to sleep! Kitt, on the other hand, slept so well and was having such good dreams she didn't wake up until noon today! Even then Mommy had to wake her up. We both did a great job for Mommy, only needing to be fed at the same time once! Last night Kitt rubbed her eye and the conformer that protects the wound popped out. Kitt and Daddy went to the doctor to get it put back in and they taught Daddy how to do it for next time. Let's just hope there isn't a next time! We went for a walk with Mommy to Walgreen's for eggs and bread and then spent the rest of the day at home. We read some books and played on the carpet. Mommy and Garet "skyped" with Mommy's friend Jennifer which was fun! The only other news is Garet's weight gain. She weighed 10 pounds, 14 1/2 ounces tonight. Kitt stayed the same, but both of us are eating very well and know we are gaining weight every day. See you soon!

Where have we been?

So, yes, it has been too many days since our last post, and as Aunt Kristen says, "it can't still be cold and rainy." So since last post, here is what has been happening. We had a really nice time with Aunt LeAnn. She was a lot of help to Mommy and we enjoyed having her read stories to us every night and also helping with bath time and feedings (among many other things). She left yesterday to go back to California, but we will see her again next month! Granddaddy came yesterday afternoon. We hadn't seen him in a long time so that was fun. He and Grammy came over for a little while today and then they left to go back to Florida. We will miss them, too, but will see them some time this summer.

We are growing and eating and playing more and more everyday. We both seem to enjoy being on our tummies some each day to get our neck muscles stronger. Mommy and Daddy have to be real careful with Garet because she keeps trying to sneak peeks at the TV! She says she needs to know what is going on in the world, but Mommy and Daddy say babies our size are too small for TV. We had another visitor today who brought dinner to Mommy and Daddy and held Garet for a long time. We are getting better about sleeping through the night. Most nights one of us sleeps all the way through and some nights both of us do. Mommy and Daddy will both be so excited when we both sleep all night long consistently. We don't think it will be long.

As for our weights, Kitt is up to 10 pounds, 6 ounces and Garet is 10 pounds, 13 ounces! All this milk sure is helping us grow! Tomorrow is the first day in a while that Mommy will be on her own with us both so it should be interesting. We will let you know how she does. We are sure she is going to do a great job!!!!

Cold and rainy

Today was a cold and rainy day, for sure! Mommy and Daddy took Kitt to the eye doctor and he said the eye is healing very nicely. We had some visitors, Robert and Susan, for lunch who held us for a little while. The rest of the day we hung out around the house and had some time playing on the floor. The only other important thing to report today is our new weights. Kitt weighs 10 pounds, 3 1/2 ounces and Garet weighs 10 pounds, 9 1/2 ounces. See you soon!

Take us to the Mall!

We had our first trip to the mall today. Mommy and Aunt LeAnn packed us up and took us to Lenox Square today. Then we had to go to the Pulmonologist for our last Synagis shot. We came home and slept for a long time after the shot. Then Mommy and LeAnn decided we needed some time on our tummies. We had some visitors today, of course. JoJo, from the church, came by but he doesn't like to hold babies when they are too little. He said he will hold us when we are a little bit bigger. Carra and Brian came by tonight and so did Philip and Randall. At the doctor today we got weighed. Kitt weighs an even 10 pounds! Garet weighs 10 pounds, 7 ounces! Here are some pictures from the day! Also, the rest of Sharlene's pictures (all 276 of them) are on Snapfish. Mommy and Daddy's friends, Doug and Paula, sent these baby dolls today which just so happened to match our new outfits that GAMA sent. Also, notice that Garet is really trying to pull herself up on her belly. In the picture of Kitt and Aunt LeAnn, Kitt is really helping to hold her own bottle!

Visitors Galore

So we had so many friends come and visit us today. Early this morning Aunt LeAnn came for a visit. When Kitt had to have her surgery Mommy called LeAnn and asked her to come and help. She flew all through the night from California to be here this week. We are so glad to get to meet her. The weather was so beautiful today so we went to the Taqueria at the edge of the neighborhood for lunch. Afterwards, Mr. Bill, Robert and Meg all came to see us. We are posting some pictures that were taken when we first got home from the NICU by a good friend of Mommy and Daddy, Sharlene. Aren't they beautiful? That's all for now! We will see you soon.

Not too much new happened today but we did have a special visitor......Mommy and Daddy's friend Kate. She has come over a couple times but has not been able to stay. Today she came and visited for a good long while. There is a picture of us with her below. We went for a walk with Mommy and Daddy to Walgreen's and saw those big girls selling cookies again! Granny left early this afternoon after helping Mommy get meals made for next week and after getting the house ready for next week's special visitor/helper. In other news, we both gained weight today. Kitt is 9 pounds, 11 1/2 ounces and Garet weighed 10 pounds, 5 1/2 ounces.
