Homecoming Day!!!!

After 72 days in the NICU, approximately 5,000 miles back and forth to the hospital, dozens of cafeteria meals, nearly $2,000 in waived parking fees, countless conversations with doctors and nurses usually ending in “they’ll just get it,” I have two beautiful babies sleeping peacefully at home!

As you can tell, we have BIG NEWS! We are both home today after 10 weeks and 2 days. Kitt made really great progress over the past few days so the doctor decided to go ahead and let us leave together. We are all so excited. Mommy wrote a poem for us while we were in the hospital and she decided to share it with all of you for you are the ones who have loved us without meeting us, have prayed for us and for our parents and who will continue to love us. There are some pictures below of our Homecoming and of us in our new dresses from Aunt Kristen and Uncle Mark. Mommy seems to think we are going to be too busy to keep blogging so we are going to take a little break. We will still try to post about once a week or so……we hope you will keep reading! This is the rocking chair where I sat and prayed for you,

This is the bed where I spent many sleepless nights,

It’s the place where you will come when you get scared sometimes.

This is your Daddy’s shoulder, where I cried so many times,

Now it is the place where you will lay your head to rest.

This is the phone in case your doctors needed me,

One day not long from now you’ll be asking for your own.

This is a place of peace and love, a place that you’ll call home.
