Chunking Up (well, sort of!)

Garet: I am back to my birth weight plus one ounce now! Last night I weighed 2 pounds 10 ounces. I am sure this has something to do with the fact that I am getting 24 cc of Mommy's milk, also fortified with extra calories. I did really well while Mommy was holding me today, continuing to breathe all on my own. Mommy changed my diaper and then put some lotion on my legs. I am looking much better now!

Kitt: I am right back to where I started in terms of birth weight! I weighed 3 pounds last night. So while I am not really chunking up quite yet, I am getting bigger. I am still getting 27 cc of Mommy's milk every three hours fortified with some formula that adds extra calories so I can get bigger even faster. In about a week the nurses are thinking I will be able to wear some clothes and come off the heated bed. We will see how I do! The nurse took me off my cannula (oxygen in my nose) last night but I didn't do as well as they were hoping without it so they put it back in. They will try again in a couple of days to see how I do. (Check out my arms while I'm sleeping. I sure do look comfy!)
