Homecoming Day!!!!

After 72 days in the NICU, approximately 5,000 miles back and forth to the hospital, dozens of cafeteria meals, nearly $2,000 in waived parking fees, countless conversations with doctors and nurses usually ending in “they’ll just get it,” I have two beautiful babies sleeping peacefully at home!

As you can tell, we have BIG NEWS! We are both home today after 10 weeks and 2 days. Kitt made really great progress over the past few days so the doctor decided to go ahead and let us leave together. We are all so excited. Mommy wrote a poem for us while we were in the hospital and she decided to share it with all of you for you are the ones who have loved us without meeting us, have prayed for us and for our parents and who will continue to love us. There are some pictures below of our Homecoming and of us in our new dresses from Aunt Kristen and Uncle Mark. Mommy seems to think we are going to be too busy to keep blogging so we are going to take a little break. We will still try to post about once a week or so……we hope you will keep reading! Again, thank you for the love, prayers, good thoughts and support. We did it!!!! There are many more pictures from today/tonight on the Snapfish album but it's a new one. You can find it at http://www1.snapfish.com/thumbnailshare/AlbumID=2020953017/a=3656337_3656337/otsc=SHR/otsi=SALBlink/COBRAND_NAME=snapfish/

You came into this world way before you were due

But you fought and you worked while so many people prayed.

Now it is here, the big day has arrived

It’s the day I’ve hoped for, dreamed of all your lives.

So let me show you around….this is the place you’ll call home.

This is the kitchen where I baked for all who cared for you,

And one day soon, we will all cook and eat together.

This is the refrigerator where I stored up so much milk,

It’s the place where one day we will hang your art.

These are the floors that I paced while you were away,

And one day not long from now they are the floors where you will crawl.

This is the rocking chair where I sat and prayed for you,

Now it is the place where I will rock you to sleep.

This is the bed where I spent many sleepless nights,

It’s the place where you will come when you get scared sometimes.

This is your Daddy’s shoulder, where I cried so many times,

Now it is the place where you will lay your head to rest.

This is the phone in case your doctors needed me,

One day not long from now you’ll be asking for your own.

This is a place of peace and love, a place that you’ll call home.

  2. And now dear, sweet girls your lives truly begin. You are in your home which will be filled with joy, love, happiness and all of the emotions that make life so wonderful. When you ever are in need, your Mommy and Daddy will be by your side to support you, to guide you, to keep you safe.

May God and your guardian angels be by your side always. Sleep well tonight, girls. No more hospital bright lights at night. Yeah!
