Hello World!

(This was actually written on Sunday, Nov 1st). We are already a week old! It is so hard to believe that just a week ago our Mommy was really sick and we had to come early. We certainly were not quite bit enough to be born but we had to come. The people who are taking care of us at the hospital are so nice and take such good care of us. This allows our Mommy to go home and get better while we stay here and get the care we need so we will get big and strong and be ready to go home soon.

Already in one week, we have seen many changes. Here are some things going on.

Kitt: I am off my ventilator and on the lowest setting of the CPAP machine. I am eating some of my Mommy’s milk with some residual but that is getting better. Tonight when Mommy and Daddy came to see me, I was crying and Mommy gave me my pacifier. I wish you could see it. It is the tiniest little thing but I love it. I suck on it which they say is good because it helps me digest food and will eventually make drinking from a bottle easier. I still have one tube into my belly for eating but that’s it.

Garet: I am doing better and finally came off my blood pressure medicine at 11:00 this morning. I haven’t had to go back on which is a good sign. I am still needing the help of the ventilator to breathe but it is on a lower setting now. I like to stretch out when I sleep and am always kicking the blanket off of me.

Hands on Baby

  1. Wow, Kitt and Garet have amazingly strong writing skills for only being a week and two days old. And Garet kicks while she sleeps, huh? Wonder where she got that from?! Which is interesting b/c Granny used to always complain about your kicking. Love to all!

  2. Kitt and Garet are amazing and I can't wait to meet them in Dec. Keep growing girls!

  3. I'm so happy that things are moving along nicely for Kitt and Garet. I hope Mommy and Daddy are doing well too. All my good thoughts and prayers are with you.

  4. We are so happy for the new mommy and daddy and grandma and grandpa. The girls are just beautiful. Keep the pictures coming.

  5. Brit, Thanks for keeping us informed. The girls are precious, just like their mommy and daddy. I am keeping you all in my prayers.

  6. Love the blog, Brittany! So thankful for the ways they've grown in just one short week! You're right...they are going to be fighters! Praying for y'all and love you!

  7. What a great idea! :) Lots of love to you, little girls! There's lots of people loving on you & praying for you already! Can't wait for you to grow big & strong so you can come home & play. You're gonna love your nursery - & your mommy & daddy!

  8. I love this Brit! It helps knowing how to pray even more. The descriptions from them are great in paying attention to what is unique to them. I look foward to the continues tales of progress and new adventures.

  9. Thank you, Brittany and Joe, for this wonderful way to keep up with you and your beautiful twins. We are exceedingly happy to know that good progress is being made. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Jody & Roy, a couple of your fellow Mangoes!
