Hello World!

(This was actually written on Sunday, Nov 1st). We are already a week old! It is so hard to believe that just a week ago our Mommy was really sick and we had to come early. We certainly were not quite bit enough to be born but we had to come. The people who are taking care of us at the hospital are so nice and take such good care of us. This allows our Mommy to go home and get better while we stay here and get the care we need so we will get big and strong and be ready to go home soon.

Already in one week, we have seen many changes. Here are some things going on.

Kitt: I am off my ventilator and on the lowest setting of the CPAP machine. I am eating some of my Mommy’s milk with some residual but that is getting better. Tonight when Mommy and Daddy came to see me, I was crying and Mommy gave me my pacifier. I wish you could see it. It is the tiniest little thing but I love it. I suck on it which they say is good because it helps me digest food and will eventually make drinking from a bottle easier. I still have one tube into my belly for eating but that’s it.

Garet: I am doing better and finally came off my blood pressure medicine at 11:00 this morning. I haven’t had to go back on which is a good sign. I am still needing the help of the ventilator to breathe but it is on a lower setting now. I like to stretch out when I sleep and am always kicking the blanket off of me.

  1. Wow, Kitt and Garet have amazingly strong writing skills for only being a week and two days old. And Garet kicks while she sleeps, huh? Wonder where she got that from?! Which is interesting b/c Granny used to always complain about your kicking. Love to all!
